Just Like Mary and Joseph…

Did you ever think that each of us has a role to play in Christmas? Please consider the following point, sent to me in a email by Rev. Darrell Stuehrenberg, and reprinted here, with his permission.

We’re almost there, only six more days till Christmas!!….Today, Sunday, Dec. 19, is the Fourth Sunday in Advent. The appointed lessons for each of the four Sundays leading up to Christmas help us GET READY for the main event. Today’s Gospel lesson, Matthew 1:18-25, is Matthew’s amazing account of how God was going to use Joseph in sharing Jesus with the world.

Just like Mary and Joseph… each of us has a role to play. As you prepare for Christmas, stop and think…. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE?? As the Lord is explaining Joseph’s role to him, in Matthew 1:18-25, how would Lord explain your role to…. YOU??.

This is exactly what the season of Advent is all about… to prepare each of us to understand our roles… in sharing Jesus Christ with the world.

Today at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ft. Myers, the Tiny Tots helped worshipers understand their roles. The Tiny Tots children assisted in this Sunday morning’s worship to “Show and Tell” the wonderful story of Jesus’ birth.

It was exciting to hear this amazing story told…. through the eyes and voices of children!!

But wherever you are…I pray that worship this Sunday, Dec. 19th assisted in your preparation for Christmas!! Just like Mary and Joseph…you’ve got a role to play…this Christmas…LET’S GET READY!!

This e-mail devotion is written by Rev. Darrell Stuehrenberg, Interim Pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 14531 Old Olga Rd., Ft. Myers, FL. Their Sunday morning worship is at 9am. If you are in the Ft. Myers area, or know someone in the Ft. Myers area who has no church home…. please come (or invite them to come) and worship.[1. I try to not publish email addresses on this blOg, to combat spammers. If you want to get on Rev. Stuehrenberg’s emailing list, let me know on the CONTACT form on the top of this page, and I’ll forward your email address to him.]

Christian Mens Breakfast, Saturday, December 18, 2010

See ReadTheWholeBible.COM for more information on the ONE YEAR BIBLE CHALLENGE! The discussion notes ( PDF / TEXT ) for breakfast on Saturday, December 18, 2010 are now online — ”A Bird’s Eye View of the Old Testament”. Last week we took on the impossible task of reviewing the New Testament in 60 minutes. This week is the review of the OLD Testament in 60 minutes. Since the Old Testament is about twice as long as the New Testament, our goal this week is twice as impossible. Actually, we are hitting only the high points of who wrote the Old Testament and when. Study verses: Isaiah 40:28-31.

If you would like details so you can join us, or if you have any other questions, please call Tom Truex. Or send an email by using the CONTACT form on K-Line.ORG.
