School vacation schedules

Can you think of any profitable business that closes for two or three months every year, even when there are plenty of “customers” demanding year round services. How about public schools? Several years ago, the concept was promoted–and defeated–as “year round school.” Actually the idea should be to keep the schools open year round; but to give parents and students the flexibility to take vacation when they want: Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. For those students in Broward County, who are still needed to work on the farm in the summer, they would retain that option.

Would you like to see flexible vacation schedules in public schools? (i.e. Parents and students could decide when to take vacations. Schools would be open year round.)
